The researchers of the Chair systematically influence the functionality of surfaces in order to tailor them for specific technological applications. The focus is on photocatalytic (self-cleaning) surfaces, photoactive materials (solar cells) and nanotechnology applications in medicine. Corrosion processes and protection of e.g. lightweight materials and biomedical implants are also investigated.
