Prof. Dr. Heinz-Werner Höppel (center) from the Chair of General Material Properties gave his inaugural lecture on 2.7.2024.

After introductory words of welcome from Prof. Dr. Kai Willner, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as from Chairholder and Department Spokesperson Prof. Dr. Mathias Göken, Professor Höppel lectured on the question of why modern materials research on established structural materials makes sense.

Prof. Höppel had already received his certificate of appointment as an adjunct professor from the President of FAU, Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger, in February.
