Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (WW7) inducted to the National Academy of Science and Engineering of Germany

Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Head of the Institute of Biomaterials (WW7), has been formally inducted to the National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) of Germany, at the Annual General Assembly of the Academy that took place in Berlin on 15th October 2019.

Election to the Academy is based on scientific achievements and reputation. Members are drawn from the fields of engineering, natural sciences, medicine, humanities and social sciences. Acatech currently has around 500 members. Acatech is the voice of the technological sciences in Germany and abroad providing advice on strategic engineering and technology policy issues to policymakers and the public.

Prof. Boccaccini said: “It is a true honor to have been elected to acatech, I look forward to contribute to the Academy’s activities, in particular to some of the key themes of importance for acatech related to healthcare technologies and international cooperation and in the thematic network materials science and engineering.”
