“DGM Regional Forum” Erlangen founded
The German Materials Society (DGM) approved, within the framework of its Annual General Assembly on September 22nd 2018, the establishment of the DGM Regional Forum Erlangen, thus following an initiative of our department.
Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (Chair of the WW Department), Prof. Mathias Goeken and Prof. Carolin Koerner are the founding members of the Forum, which will offer a communication platform with main goal to connect and facilitate the exchange between the different sectors involved in “materials science and engineering” in the Erlangen and Northern Bavaria region, with strong emphasis in developing networks between industry, universities and other research institutions involved in materials research.
The Regional Forum Erlangen also intends to inspire and strengthen the interactions of the different regional actors with the DGM. The Forum will start its activities officially in 2019. Prof. Boccaccini will act as chairman of the DGM Regional Forum Erlangen in the first 4-year period.
